Dr (Capt.) Thimmappiah Memorial Tournament 2018 to start from July 18. Here is everything you need to know about the tournament. CricKarnataka.

Dr.(Capt.) K Thimmappiah Memorial Tournament is set to kick off on 18 July 2018 and will take conclude on 13 August 2018, just 2 days before the Karnataka Premier League. The matches would take place both in Bangalore and Mysore.
All matches will be of four-day duration.

A total of 16 teams are taking part in the tournament and the toppers from the group stage will play the semis from 5-8 August and the finals would be played from 10-13 August 2018

All the group D matches would take place on Mysore and the other A, B and C group matches would take place in Bangalore.

Here are a few facts from Thimmappiah trophy 2017.
1) Andhra Cricket Association had won the 2017 edition of the Dr Thimmappiah tournament.
2) Gujrat Cricket Association emerged as the Runner ups from the tournament.
3) Andhra Cricket Association's KS Bharat emerged as the highest run getter with 501 runs in 5 matches.
4) Gurkeerat Mann from Punjab Cricket Association with 19 wickets emerged as the leading wicket taker for the tournament.
5) Kunal Kapoor who played for President's 11, was the most successful karnataka batsman with 401 runs in 3 matches.
6) He was followed by KB Pawan(359 runs) and Suneel Raju (333 runs) both representing the KSCA Colts team.
7) Shreyas Gopal, of KSCA 11 was the highest wicket taker as he picked up 19 wickets in 4 matches.
8) He was followed by J Suchith (18 wickets) also from KSCA 11 and Vyshak Vijaykumar from KSCA Colts picked up 17 wickets.
