The Hubli Tigers had a good auction and have picked up a good balanced side. The team had earlier retained their Trump card, the skipper R Vinay Kumar, batsman Abhishek Reddy, All rounder Praveen Dubey who also has the experience of being part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore team, and most importantly they retained the left arm spinner Abhishek Sakuja who was the highest Wicket taker in the last season of the Karnataka Premier League. Along with the Services of former Karnataka coach Mansur Ali Khan, they make a strong core team. And with a good core team, comes in success, as we have seen it before. The latest example for this was the Chennai Super Kings who had the same mantra and ended the season as champions.

The Hubli Tigers have been an unlucky side, as they have been consistent all these years and yet haven't been able to kiss the trophy. In 2015 they ended as 3rd and in 2016 they we're the runner ups. However in the last season, after a good season they lost to the Belagavi Panthers after Avinash D and Anand Doddamani struck with thier hat tricks and thus had to end the tournament there.

Coming into this auction, the Tigers already had a strong core and only had to pick up players who would make up a good company, and the team succeeded in getting the team that they wanted, they brought back Mohammad Taha who had played for the Hubli team in the 2016 edition and had won many matches for the team, his comback is certainly a big boost in the opening slot for the Hubli Tigers team.
Another big pick was Mayank Agarwal, whom the team got at a very less price, although Mayank won't be available for the whole of tournament, just his presence in the few matches that he will play will surely add a bonus to the team.

Opening batsman Abhishek Reddy has been in red hot form this domestic season and has piled up huge runs in the Thimmappiah trophy and has made a terrefit comback into cricket after a knee surgery. He is surely a big asset for the team.

The team was also successful in getting back the all-rounder Melu Kranthi Kumar, who has been the face of the team for a long time now. He has won many games for the team, both with the bat and bowl and he will be hoping to continue the same.
Sujith N Gowda, is a new addition to the team. The youngster had led his Vultures Cricket team to their first division victory and is in very good form. His batting skills will add to the Hubli Tigers batting strength.

The spin department would comprise of Abhishek Sakuja who can also be a handy batsman, Praveen Dubey and Anil IG, along with young spinner Suraj Seshadri who would be making his KPL debut this year would be the spin mantra for the team.
Highly experienced Nitin Bhille is the first option to keep the wickets and along with him is another keeper Kiran AM who had a good last season with the Bijapur Bulls. Kiran could also be used as a part time spinner, so that's another added benefit for the team.
The pace attack would be led by the captain Vinay Kumar and along could be young under 19 Pacer Vidhyadhar Patil. The youngster has been in terrific form as he recently picked up 9 wickets in a single innings in the KSCA under 19 league thus proving his ability. He has also been training hard at the National Cricket Academy and he might probably make an impact this season.
Along with the above, the experienced Sunil Jain, Rahul Naik and youngster Vidwath Kaverappa would also benefit the team. Also the services of Ram Sarikh Yadav and Shivraj S would have an added benefit for the team.
