Karnataka's youngster Devdutt Padikkal has been selected for the India U19 team for the Sri Lanka tour. He has been named in both ODI and the 4 days match squad.
The top order left handed batsman had a wonder domestic season in the U19 Cooch Behar trophy where he was one among the top run getters.
These consistent performances had earned him a place in the Karnataka senior team for the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018. Although he didn't get to feature in the playing 11 , this was certainly a confidence booster for the youngster.
He was part of the Ballari Tuskers in the Karnataka Premier league 2017 and was also a star performer at the Mangalore premier league (MPL), this year.
His good performances have finally landed him in the Indian team, and under the coaching of legend like Rahul Dravid under whom India won the recently concluded U19 world cup. He has a great chance to improve his skills both as a batsman and as a human being.
